We at the BC Blog have coined a new phrase for the internet. It’s called a “Tweaser”

What is a Tweaser?

It stands for “Television Website News Teaser ”

It is not the same thing as a tweezer, that’s what you use to pull stickers out with. :)

It’s TV News Stations that show a little (well not so little) graphic on the bottom of your screen that says:
‘Breaking news, go to theirwebsite.com to see it”

First of all, if it was breaking news, wouldn’t they break into the TV show and tell you about it?
So it must not be that important.

What they really want you to do, is to go to their website and see what this “news” is all about.

In the case of Phoenix’s TV Fox 10, When you go to their website they do indeed have some recent news, but it is not something that is extremely important, cause like we said, if it was, they would have shown it to you originally on your TV.

What do they do, they give you one paragraph about their ‘Breaking News” and want you to click on the video so you can see the whole story. OK, that’s not so bad.
But what happens when you click on it?
First you get a commercial, then you get the news, then you get another commercial.
So they have forced you to watch their commercials to find out all the information.

Watch this video and you will see what we mean.

This video will probably get banned soon for copyright issues, but until then…..

We have now named this sort of thing a Tweaser!
I am sure there is nothing we can do about it, except not fall for their tricks. If no one bothers to fall for their Tweaser, maybe they will stop creating them.
