Ok, this is just funny, had to add it to the blog.

The manager of a minor league baseball team lost his cool and maybe some of his sanity Thursday during an on-field tirade in which he uprooted bases and covered home plate completely in dirt.

Phillip Wellman, manager of Atlanta Braves affiliate Mississippi Braves, apparently had enough of the umpires, springing out of the dugout to let his temper flare. After a nose-to-nose argument with the home plate ump, Wellman completely covered home plate in dirt. He then made his way up the third base line, where he ripped third base out of the dirt and hurled it into the outfield.

Baseball Bonds and Slingbox

Saturday, 2nd June, 2007

.
McCovey CoveI ran across this funny article about the “Bonds Navy” in McCovey Cove.

What caught my eye is the ingenious use of the Slingbox:

Then again, Ellison is the same guy who sometimes attaches his tablet PC to his kayak (the screen is protected by a clear waterproof case), logs on to the AT&T Park wireless, connects to his home Slingbox and then watches the Giants game with a 7-second delay. That’s when the fellas will gather around to watch a highlight. These guys have even ordered pizza to be delivered to the Cove.

How is that for a cool way to watch the game and get a chance to fish out a few baseballs?

Course not everyone was into the game:

“Meanwhile, up on the pier, next to the two dudes who are channeling “The Big Lebowski” and doing a J, is a guy named Joe.”

Read the full article here at ESPN.COM

Also, kinda good timing with the news that the MLB believes the Slingbox to be illegal.

If you have not read about Major League Baseball’s latest take about the Slingbox, see the comments here and here.

If you disagree with the MLB, take a minute and read this thread and post a letter.

Spurs move to next round

Saturday, 19th May, 2007

A lot has been said about the Phoenix Suns - San Antonio Spurs playoff series.
Seems like everyone has good points on both sides of the table. Say what you want but the Spurs have now won and move to the next round.

We are not knocking the Jazz and what they have accomplished but, the BC Blog is predicting the Spurs will go all the way.
But we are also predicting very poor TV ratings and poor viewer turn out. The next round could be very boring and when they go to play Detroit (Ya, our other prediction) unless their is some controversy it will not be an exciting series either.

The fans will probably look like this when watching the games….

Did Robert Horry get told to Foul Nash

Tuesday, 15th May, 2007

If you have not seen the flagrant foul that Robert Horry put on Steve Nash last night then you need to watch this first.

What everyone is wondering is if Robert Horry was told to foul Steve Nash hard.
Of course he was told to foul him. That’s hoe the game is played. But was he told to hit him hard and hope to get some suspensions out of it?

I had an email discussion about this with Mark Asher of the Gambo and Ash show and Ash doesn’t think Popovich told him to do it.
I am not so sure.

Coming back from a time out, down by three, I wouldn’t doubt Horry was told what to do if the San Antonio Spurs didn’t score. This would not be the first time Robert Horry was told to take one for the team!

You decide, watch the video and you will see how Robert Horry waits for Steve Nash. Everyone else is running down court and he stops, waits and then wham!

Now, Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw are suspended for tomorrow nights game. Looks to me like Popovich’s plan worked.

Series is tied 2-2….

I knew the game was going to be very physical one and it definitely was!

In fact I was so excited about watching all of this game I made sure to be at home watching  on my HD TV and TiVo S3. No Slingboxing on this one.

I wasn’t disappointed, it was a great game.
But, there is no sense in anyone deliberately hurting an opponent.
Watch the video and you decide. Was this a Flagrant foul? The ref’s thought so, Horry was ejected from the game because of it.

Reminds me of the time when Horry played for the Suns and threw the towel in Coach Ainge’s face. I think he lasted about one week before he was traded.

If you have not figured it out by now, from my other blog posts, I am kinda a Suns fan. So it was great that they won. Can’t wait for game 5 and 6!

Suns Coach Not Happy

Sunday, 13th May, 2007

If you are not watching the Suns - Spurs playoff series you are missing a lot of action!

I had to go to a party tonight.
Fortunately, I had my laptop and Slingbox so I didn’t miss the game.
Game 3 was a very physical one. Tons of contact was allowed and I don’t think the Suns were up for it. Neither did their coach Mike D’Antoni.
Maybe they thought that after the last two games the Refs were going to watch the Spurs closer.
Nothing could be farther than the truth. The Spurs were very physical and the Ref’s let them get away with it.

Watch this video! You will see Mike is upset and he walks out of the interview.
You can bet the Suns won’t be patsies for game 4, this one will be even more physical than the last. I can’t wait!

The Phoenix Suns are now down 2 games to 1. I bet Monday’s game will be the most physical game you have ever seen the Suns play!
