.
Unless you have been on the moon.
You have already heard about Pro wrestler Chris Benoit, who we are told, strangled his wife, suffocated his 7-year-old son and placed a Bible next to their bodies before hanging himself with a weight-machine pulley.
Benoit’s 43-year-old wife was killed Friday in an upstairs family room, her feet and wrists were bound and there was blood under her head, indicating a possible struggle.
Daniel was probably killed late Saturday or early Sunday, the body found in his bed, the district attorney said.
Also, no suicide note was found. If you have not heard the whole story, read this.
This is a very sad story.
But now they have found anabolic steroids in the house and want to know whether the muscle man nicknamed “The Canadian Crippler” was unhinged by the bodybuilding drugs, which can cause paranoia, depression and explosive outbursts known as “roid rage.”
If you think the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) group is going to say steroids were a factor in the senseless murders and suicide, think again.
The WWE, based in Stamford, Conn., issued a statement Tuesday evening saying steroids “were not and could not be related to the cause of death. Before any toxicology results are in, they are already stating on their website.
They also said:
Steroids were not, and could not, be related to the cause of death (asphyxiation).
This next quote is almost funny, of course they were not the directly related, Steroids did not asphyxiate his wife and son.
The wife’s feet and hands were bound and she was asphyxiated, not beaten to death.
So, since he didn’t beat them to death he was not on ‘roids?
This next quote from WWE I tend to agree with.
WWE strongly suggests that it is entirely wrong for speculators to suggest that steroids had anything to do with these senseless acts, especially when the authorities plainly stated there is no evidence that Benoit had steroids in his body, pending the toxicological reports, and that they had no evidence at this time as to the motive for these acts.
We shouldn’t speculate that steroids had anything to do with this, until the reports are back.
But, this just points out that the WWE is already taking a stand that these senseless murders were not steroid related and it shows that they are not that interested in curbing steroid usage or pursuing the issue.
We know the WWE makes tons of money from their “sport” and that Pro Wrestling is one of cable’s highest rated shows.
So, I doubt you will see any steroid investigations internally at WWE, like you have seen on other sports like Baseball and Football.
They need their guys big. strong and bigger than real life!
