If you have been following the BC Blog, you know that we have been posting the photo of the day. These are sometimes funny some times thought inspiring.

We have decided to move from photos to videos. Now every time you go to the BC Blog you will now see our video of the day in the top right corner. Again, sometimes these will be funny, sometimes thought provoking or maybe just a cool gadget report we have found.

You can watch the videos and enjoy, but there are times you may want to share the video with your friends. The simplest way is just to tell them to go to the BC Blog and watch it here themselves.

But, if you want the ability to download them or email them to a friend, here is how.

Just right click on this and select, “save target as” or “save link as”, depending on your browser. Once you have done this, then rename the file to something that makes sense to you and then you have it forever. At this point you can save it for yourself or email it to whomever you wish.

If you have any problems or questions on this, let us know, but remember the videos will be changed often, so as you save them its important to rename them as you go!

Oh, if you have a video you would like us to put up as the “Video of the day” feel free to send it or give us a link. Just put it in the comment area below.

We have added the ability for you to do an advanced search on the BC Blog!

Since we now have over 800 posts sometimes it’s hard to find what you might be looking for. To make it easier we have added an Advanced Search to the BC Blog. You can click on the ‘Advanced Search” tab at the top of the page and search by Content, Category, Author, Date and even more!

But don’t worry, if you just want to do a quick search there still is the standard search bar on the top right.

Give the Advanced Search a try and let us know what you think.

While on the subject of the top tabs, don’t miss the other cool pages we have. There are several different things you won’t see on other blogs. We have a nice Contact Us page, a News Digger that will give you the latest aggregated Technology news, A Sling Media, Slingbox News tab and a Who’s Online tab.

Give these a try as well, If you would like to see an other News update service or more, let us know.

We have now added a cool little tool to the blog called AnswerTips.
They are small bubbles of information triggered by double-clicking any word on our pages except for links. So basically any word you see in black on any page you can now see a definition and even hear the pronunciation.
Now you have access to definitions and fast facts on millions of obscure words, personalities or slang.
Check it out and let us know what you think.

If you search for Blogging tips you will find a Zillion of them our there. How to get more users, how to monetize your site, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and more.

But a lot of bloggers don’t promote other bloggers. Why, cause if you are looking at someone else’s blog then you are not reading theirs. We we at the BC Blog say ‘Share the Wealth” If you like the information here great, if not then find the site you like and go there.

So we will let every Blogger promote their site and do it for free!

Just a quick update and FYI.

Several people have asked… How do you keep up with all the news regarding Sling Media, Slingbox and the SlingCatcher?

How do you find the latest news articles before others see it?

In reality it’s not hard, all you have to do is setup RSS feeds for the major (and not so major) sites that create news feeds and watch what comes up. You could also setup a news reader to do it for you.

But I kinda cheat and just have a web page do it for me.

I guess I should share it for all of us.

If you are looking for the latest news articles regarding anything Sling related we can scour from the web and put it up.

Day after day the BC Blog is gaining new users, new information and getting very busy!
With all the new users we decided that it is time the BC Blog got some new additions to the site.
We have added and upgraded several different things.

• First you will notice that the BC Blog logo is now on the top left of every page. Thanks to Matt Whitlock, we have a great new logo!
• We have also upgrade the ugly WordPress login graphics with his colors and logo.
• If you are new, and have not seen it yet, we have also added a program that will notify you every time there is a new post on the blog. Naturally you can opt out of it, but why would you want to do that.
• With this we also have added a simple way you can tell your friends about a particular post. You will see on the bottom of every post “… Email and Recommend This Post to a Friend”.
  When you click on it you can send, up to 5 people, an E-Mail note that they should read that particular post.
• We have added a Polling function. With this you can vote your thoughts on a subject and see what other people think about it or are doing. You can see the latest poll on the right side of your screen.
• Live-Online Chat! We also have added a live online chat, that anyone can use 24/7. We had this once before, took it down, but several people were asking us to bring it back. So now it is available once again. You will see the lick at the top of the page.
• Contact Page! You can contact us anytime by using the contact page here. This is a quick and easy way to send us a private message, without needing to load or run your email program.

The BC Blog also has a bunch of videos on YouTube, if you get a chance we recommend you check them out here.
